Maritime Museum of San Diego

If you’re interested in visiting, don’t plan on a few hours… plan a day! Or 6 hours at least. This place is amazing. I’ve been to maritime museums before but this one tops them all; definitely one of the largest in the US. My kids L O V E D this place. Each ship felt like a separate adventure. We especially enjoyed the boat tour out on the bay.
Be aware that we had to walk back to the pier for restrooms. The day we were there they had moderate attendance. We eventually left because we wanted dinner at a restaurant.
In our video they are firing blank canon rounds. That’s not something they do regularly.

The USS Midway isn’t technically part of the Maritime Museum of San Diego. It requires a separate ticket for entry. Check out our video tour of the Midway. We also have a video of the boardwalk.
