Mesa Verde is a unique National Park located in southern Colorado near the four corners area. Here during the 1100’s the Ancestral Puebloans fought against all odds to create an amazing city that sheltered an estimated 20,000+ people. There are actually several cave dwellings, some quite difficult to get to without modern conveniences. These cities even had defense towers and hidden tunnels connecting different areas.
