Union Station has been transformed from a abandoned train station to a mall with unique shops and fancy restaurants. The station was the “last great train station” (1884) of the US before the car industry shift the rails northward towards Chicago. Yes, this was once the largest and busiest train station in the WORLD. The largest trainshed covered 22 different rail lines and their passengers at once.
Inside the mall is something quite unique to St Louis, the Fudgery. Here they fudge artist create and fold the fudge before your eyes as they sing and dance. But, be warned, they demand customer interaction or you will be reprimanded.
