Salt Lake Area
Although we’re originally from the South, we currently call the Salt Lake area our home. We love how close we are to the mountains, waterfalls, and hiking but still live in a city of over 1 million people. It’s not too large and nothing like the smaller cities of our childhoods. There’s always something to do. Here’s a compilation of our blog posts, reviews, and photos from the Salt Lake area. We’ve also included some stuff from a few hours away in Arches and other amazing Utah places! Since the Salt Lake area is closest to home we hope to add more and more content. Some of our favorite things to do in the Spring and Fall is to hike around the canyons and see the leaves change colors. We enjoy the urban exploration around the city. Lakes and camping keep us busy in the summer. Join us as our family does some Urban and Rural Exploration!

Goblin Valley
Goblin Valley State Park Goblin Valley State Park is unique and often compared to Mars because of the geological formations and sandstone that make up the majority of the park. I remember going to Goblin Valley Park as a child and I couldn’t wait to take my family...
Golden Spike
Address: You're better off getting directions from their website. There isn't really an address for this place. Website: www.nps.gov/gosp/gosp-visitor-center.htm Normally, the visitor's center at the Golden Spike National Historic Site is... well, boring. But,...
Thanksgiving Point Gardens
The Thanksgiving Point Gardens are beautiful any time of the year. But, the Tulip Festival is one of the best in the Western US.
Heber Valley Railroad
We've ridden the Heber Valley Railroad several times. Sure the kids love taking the public transportation (light rail) but there's little to compare to riding a real railroad. They have a snack car (well priced candy bars, hot dogs, nacho chips, etc), a viewing car...
